Whitney MannNurse Practitioner
Whitney is a family nurse practitioner originally from Kellogg, ID. Whitney graduated from Kellogg High School as Valedictorian in 2005, and received her Bachelor Science of Nursing degree from Lewis-Clark State College in 2009. Whitney received her Master’s Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from Gonzaga University December 2016 and has been certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners since January of 2017.
Whitney is passionate about preventative healthcare as well as educating her patients. Her approach is centered on empowering her patients with good information in order to aid her patients in choosing the best plan for their lifestyle. Whitney appreciates new evidence based practice and incorporates this into her practice frequently when applicable.
Whitney has had a wide range of experience as a nurse with most of her experience being spent in critical access ERs around Northern Idaho. Whitney has also had the opportunity to work in every unit at Kootenai Health including psychiatry, critical care, OB, pediatrics, oncology, nephrology, cardiology, med/surg and surgical recovery room.
Prior to her nursing career, Whitney worked for the Idaho Department of Lands and U.S. Forest Service as a wildland firefighter. One of the highlights of this career was working as a helicopter crew member and being sent out of state for two week assignments on large forest fires. Whitney finished her last year in the U.S. Forest Service stationed in Superior, MT.
During her leisure time Whitney enjoys the outdoors as much as possible. Whitney enjoys dirt bike riding, snowboarding, hiking and traveling. She also enjoys playing in recreational leagues for volleyball and basketball as well as participating obstacle runs such as the Spartan Race, Tough Mudder, etc.
